Update 28/11

Feeling a bit less shaky and emotional. Finding all kinds of bruises and adding to them with a big fall. Some great news now...

I have been in touch with my host family and miraculously, once the debris and ash had been moved, it seems that most of the ground floor of their particular house can be salvaged including many personal possessions! This has made me so happy.

My hostess' brother-in-law came to collect their coat and brought me my shoes - they must have tumbled out as I ran! They stink of smoke so if anyone has any suggestions of how to get the smell of fire out of suede or DMs (fake) please send answers on a postcard.

I've been told that the village had CCTV around the perimeter which have clearly caught the perpetrators throwing molotov cocktails towards the houses. Hopefully they will be brought to justice.

I managed to sleep consistently for 2.5 hours last night and will aim for a bit more tonight.

I'm reading hundreds of fb posts about shelter, clothing, food and everyday items being offered to families all over Israel who have lost their homes and possessions through the fires.

Tomorrow I am heading to an Arab city up north to deliver some English language through drama workshops in a school where the student body is a mixture of Druze, Christian and Muslim pupils and staff. It's going to be fun and it's my first proper step forward from the nightmare of the weekend.
